If you have any known allergies, please let your RMT know before the treatment.
If you prefer a different type of gel or lotion, feel free to bring it to your treatment.
For treatments where you are lying under sheets, you may remove as much or as little clothing as you wish - Only the areas being treated will ever be exposed. Most clients keep on only their underwear, some may just remove clothing for the specific areas being treated (ie: just their shirt for an upper body focused treatment), etc.
For treatments incorporating a lot of movement and stretching, where sheets may not be used, wearing sports shorts and a sports bra are recommended.
In the end, it all depends on the treatment plan you will discuss with your RMT, and your personal preferences and comfort level!
More time booked gives us more time to work!
30-minute appointments are ideal for site-specific treatment or one major complaint. On the other hand, 60 to 90-minute appointments are great to address multiple concerns and conduct full-body treatments.
Please note that during your initial treatment, approximately 10 minutes may be used to review your Health History Form, discuss your main complaint, get to know your preferences and goals, and conduct any assessments deemed necessary for a safe and effective treatment.
Common responses include: "loose", "lighter", "relaxed", "like I could go to sleep".
However, depending on the approach of the treatment and the goals desired, you might feel more energized or even a little sore.
It is possible, if receiving a treatment with deeper pressure ("deep tissue"), that you may feel some discomfort similar to that "post-workout" feeling. This may last 2-3 days. This is normal.
Staying hydrated, using heat packs (10-15 minutes) and/or taking a warm bath (20-30 minutes) are all ways in which you can help reduce that pain.
Most people experience no negative effects after a massage.
If something is uncomfortable to you, if the pressure during the treatment is too much or too little, if you don't like the music that is playing in the room, please let your RMT know!
Any questions before, during, or after the treatment concerning techniques, draping, alternate modalities or anything else - ask away!
This is your time.
